11Aging remodels skin immune responses to infection and sensitization in mice
Epicutaneous challenges in mice reveal context-dependent shifts in local immune cell recruitment rather than a uniform decline in tissue immunity.
TFAM deficiency in T cells worsens viral lung pathology and weakens immunity
Declining TFAM levels impair mitochondrial function in CD8+ T cells, driving tissue damage and weakening long-term immune protection during influenza.
Model organismsMitochondria
Lipid metabolism regulators and snoRNPs control mitochondrial surveillance and mitophagy
Supplementing unsaturated fatty acids enhanced mitochondrial stress responses and pathogen defense without altering the unfolded protein response.
