Agreement
AgingResearch.News is run by Paperfoot AI Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore (“we”, “us”). These terms apply when you use the site, an account, Plus or the data API, and by using them you accept these terms. The privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
The service
AgingResearch.News reports new research on the biology of aging: stories written from new papers, news, clinical trials, search, Ask and a data API. Anyone can read the site. A free account adds saves, upvotes, followed topics and searches, the weekly email and 10 Ask questions a day. We may add, change or remove features.
Accounts
- You must be 16 or over to open an account.
- Use a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- One person per account. Don’t open extra accounts to get more questions or requests.
Plus
- Plus costs $3.95 a month or $19.95 a year, in US dollars.
- It adds a personal feed ranked against your research, a match score on every paper, the strongest new papers in the topics you follow, 100 Ask questions a day and keys for the data API.
- Plus renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. Stripe takes the payments.
- Cancel any time from Manage billing in your account. Plus stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, then stops.
- We don’t refund part of a period. If you live in the UK or the EU, you can cancel within 14 days of your first payment and get a refund: write to us.
- If the price changes, we email you first, and the new price starts at your next renewal.
Acceptable use
Don’t:
- get around sign-in, Plus, the Ask allowance or the API limits, or share your account or keys;
- copy the site in bulk, or load it hard enough to slow it for others. For data at volume, use the data API;
- attack, probe or disrupt the service or its security;
- use the service to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- present our stories or Ask answers as your own work, or as medical advice.
We may suspend or close an account, or revoke a key, that breaks these terms.
The data API
- API keys come with Plus. Create up to 5 on Developers. Each key is shown once: keep it secret, and revoke it if it leaks. You are responsible for requests made with your keys.
- Each account gets 1,000 requests a day and 60 a minute, shared across its keys and counted in UTC. Keys stop working while Plus is inactive.
- Higher limits are available by written agreement: write to hello@agingresearch.news.
- Our judgements, stories, and the entities and claims we extract are our work. Use them in your own research and products, and credit AgingResearch.News where you show them. Don’t resell API data, or republish it in bulk as a dataset or feed, without a written agreement.
- Abstracts are returned only under licences that allow reuse. Follow each abstract’s licence and credit its authors.
- We may add to the API. Fields in version 1 will not be removed or change meaning.
Content
- Stories are written by AI from each paper’s abstract, and every claim is checked against the abstract before publication. A story can still be wrong: the paper is the authority, and every story links to it.
- News briefs are written in our own words from what each outlet published, with a link to the outlet. Trials come from ClinicalTrials.gov. Ask answers are written by AI from the abstracts of the papers they cite.
- Nothing on AgingResearch.News is medical advice. Talk to a doctor about your health.
- We quote an abstract only when its licence allows reuse, such as CC BY, CC BY-SA or CC0. Papers and abstracts belong to their authors and publishers.
- Our stories, briefs, judgements, design and code belong to us. Quote and link to them with credit; ask us before republishing a whole story.
- You keep the rights to your Ask questions, and let us store and use them as the privacy policy describes.
Liability
- We provide AgingResearch.News as it is and as available, and don’t promise that it will always be accurate, complete or online.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the strength of our content.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending
Stop using the service at any time. To close your account, write to hello@agingresearch.news. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close a paid account for any other reason, we refund the unused part of the period.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law where you live, and can bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and we email account holders before a significant change takes effect. If you keep using the service after it does, the new terms apply.
