Chronic Kidney Disease: Mechanisms of Progression, Cellular Changes, and Strategies to Slow Disease Progression

Follow

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (DRC) constitutes a major public health problem, characterized by the progressive and persistent loss of renal function, with systemic repercussions and an increased risk of cardiovascular complications and mortality. In this context, understanding the mechanisms involved in its progression is essential to improve diagnosis, monitoring, and therapeutic strategies. The progression of DRC results from the interaction among hemodynamic, inflammatory, metabolic, and vascular changes, as well as factors related to renal aging.
