The Duchaine System: The Freedom to Adapt in Health Optimization Plans for Men
Abstract
The Duchaine System is a formally specified, N=1 adaptive optimization architecture for body recomposition, endurance performance, and healthspan extension under medical supervision. The system comprises three prescription-generating engines: a rolling-horizon zone scheduler (MACRO), a volume contract enforcer (FLOOR), and an intensity compiler (TEMPO), integrated with inviolable metabolic heuristics and a calendar-driven reporting framework. The system explicitly treats behavior change as an engineering problem: define contracts, compile execution under constraints, conserve quantities across time, surface infeasibility early, and reconcile deficits rapidly. This paper specifies system doctrine, architectural boundaries, data contracts, failure modes, and lessons learned from AI-mediated daily prescription—including critical discoveries regarding silent execution drift, anti-sycophancy requirements, and responsibility boundaries. CROSS-DOMAIN APPLICABILITY While developed for fitness optimization, the Duchaine architecture addresses a universal problem: plans that are coherent at the strategic level but erode through locally reasonable daily deviations. The architectural pattern transfers to any domain where cumulative execution determines outcomes: • Clinical Practice: TRT optimization, cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes management, addiction recovery• Rehabilitation: Post-surgical protocols, physical therapy, orthopedic recovery• Personal Training: Periodization enforcement, volume contract tracking, drift detection• Military Operations: Mission objective preservation under tactical adaptation• Project Management: Scope and schedule drift prevention• Financial Planning: Savings target enforcement against "just this once" exceptions The transferable principles—contracts over targets, conservation laws, infeasibility surfacing, drift instrumentation, and bounded flexibility—apply wherever long-term goals must survive contact with daily operational reality. --- LICENSE • Paper & documentation: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0)• Code (duchaine_sfs/, scripts/): MIT License See LICENSE file in the archive for full terms. --- DATA ACCESS Raw execution data containing protected health information (PHI) and related GitHub repository access is available by request to the author: sean@victorytechpartners.com
