Abstract

This scoping review aims to map and synthesize the current evidence on metallomics, metal homeostasis, neurotoxicity, and multi-omics applications in Caenorhabditis elegans. The review will explore how genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, ionomics, and systems biology approaches have been integrated to investigate metal-regulated biological networks. Particular emphasis will be placed on the emerging concept of Systems Metallobiology and its implications for aging, neurodegeneration, toxicology, medicinal inorganic chemistry, and metallodrug discovery. The review will follow the JBI methodology for scoping reviews and the PRISMA-ScR reporting guidelines.
