Loss Burden, Accelerated Aging, and Neighborhood Incarceration in Health and Retirement Study (HRS)

Leveraging existing U.S. population-based data on older adults spanning 30 years from the Health and Retirement Study (HRS), we will assess whether 1) premature and cumulative loss burden relates to biological age as measured in PhenoAge, GrimAge, and DunedinPACE clocks in 2016, 2) premature and cumulative loss burden relates to frailty symptoms, and 3) average residential county incarceration rate moderates the relationships in Aims 1 and 2.
