Aging is associated with alterations in endogenous tryptophan (TRP) metabolism that contribute to musculoskeletal decline. In this study, we investigated the effects of the microbiota-derived tryptophan (TRP) metabolite, indole-3-propionic acid (IPA), on musculoskeletal health in aged mice.
