Reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a vital role in normal cellular functions, including cellular signaling and metabolism of toxins. Excessive ROS contributes to the pathogenesis of cardiovascular and hematologic conditions by altering genetic expression, signal transduction, lipid peroxidation, and vascular remodeling.
