Research progress on non-coding RNA in cardiac senescence
Abstract
Aging is one of the risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Cardiac aging leads to changes in cardiac structure and a decline in function, but the molecular mechanisms related to cardiac aging have not yet been fully elucidated. Non-coding RNAs include microRNAs (miRNA), long non-coding RNAs (lncRNA), circular RNAs (circRNA), and Piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNA), which participate in the development and progression of cardiac aging. This article describes the regulatory roles of non-coding RNAs in cardiac aging, with the aim of providing new strategies to delay cardiac aging.
