Abstract

Cardiac remodeling is the main pathological basis for the development and progression of heart failure and is an important factor affecting the prognosis of patients with myocardial injury. Cardiac remodeling is regulated by numerous mechanisms, many of which have been found in recent years to be associated with cardiac cell senescence. This article reviews the effects and mechanisms of cardiac cell senescence on cardiac remodeling in terms of oxidative stress, inflammatory responses, energy metabolism, autophagy, and mitochondrial dysfunction, with a view to providing new ideas for the prevention and treatment of heart failure.
