Individual and interactive effects of personality and social connectedness on cognitive decline: A coordinated data analysis
Abstract
The goal of this project is to demonstrate the individual and interactive associations of personality traits, social connectedness (loneliness, social support, social networks), and cognitive decline in older age. We propose to do this using the framework of coordinated data analysis, which allows us to harmonize statistical models across multiple studies that collected comparable data. This approach enables more confident, generalizable conclusions about developmental associations between personality, social connectedness, and cognitive decline, with clearer implications for clinical practice and policy.
