Abstract
Background: Neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) are associated with increased caregiver burden, institutionalization, and mortality. Recent evidence indicates that mood, personality, and behavioral changes manifest considerably earlier, often prior to observed declines in cognition and functioning.
