Plasma NfL and Cognitive Functioning in Older Adults: The Moderating Role of HDL Cholesterol

AAIC 2025 Abstract

Abstract

Background: Plasma neurofilament light chain (NfL), a biomarker of neuroaxonal damage, is associated with cognitive decline and neurodegeneration. High‐density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, known for its anti‐inflammatory and antioxidative properties, has been linked to cognitive performance in aging populations.
