Abstract
Background: Adiposity and Type 2 diabetes (T2D) are linked to cognitive decline and dementia, but findings on global adiposity, typically measured by body mass index (BMI), remain inconsistent, especially in older adults. Given sex differences in fat distribution, regional adiposity may offer critical insights into these associations.
