Background: Repetitive head impact exposure (RHI) is the only known risk factor for chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a distinct neurodegenerative tauopathy. Most aging studies ask participants about prior traumatic brain injury (TBI), but not common sources of RHI.
