Abstract

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology involves the accumulation of amyloid‐beta (Aβ) peptides into senile plaques generated by Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) cleavage by β‐secretases. When APP is cleaved by ADAM10 instead, neuroprotective fragments are released.
