Abstract
Environmental exposures are major but understudied determinants of chronic disease. Cadmium is a pervasive toxic metal encountered through diet and tobacco smoke that has been associated with cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease mortality, yet strategies to mitigate its neurotoxicity remain limited.
