PRELIMINARY FINDINGS OF A MINDFUL WALKING PROGRAM TO PROMOTE HEALTH IN AFRICAN AMERICAN OLDER ADULTS

Trial in peopleInterventions

Abstract

African American adults aged 60 and older are nearly twice as likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias compared to non-Hispanic Whites. Regular physical activity, like walking, benefits brain health and may delay cognitive decline. Mindfulness training is cost-effective and can be easily integrated with a walking program.
