Abstract
Background: Glutaminyl‐peptide cyclotransferase (QPCT) catalyzes the formation of pyroglutamate‐modified amyloid‐beta (pGlu‐Aβ). pGlu‐Aβ is a neurotoxic and aggregation‐prone form of Aβ that accelerates plaque formation and contributes to Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
