Abstract

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) directly reduces skeletal muscle mass—thereby impairing physical function and potentially accelerating disease progression—and preclinical evidence suggests that skeletal muscle may also influence AD risk and pathology via the muscle‐brain axis.
