Background: Previous studies, including ours (Wuestefeld et al., Brain , 2023), showed tau positron emission tomography (PET) uptake in medial temporal and neocortical regions of amyloid‐beta (Aβ)‐negative cognitively unimpaired (CU) individuals, associated with neurodegeneration and worse memory performance.
