Abstract
Background: Neuroimaging findings have shown that white matter volume loss and demyelination critically contribute to brain atrophy in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Notably, demyelination occurs in the presymptomatic AD stages, preceding the formation of amyloid‐β plaques and neurofibrillary tangles.
