Abstract
Background: Accumulation of abnormally phosphorylated tau proteins is pathological hallmark in a group of neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease. In the pathogenesis of these diseases, which are collectively called tauopathies, tau abnormality is thought to cause neurodegeneration.
