Abstract

Background: Non-nutritive sweeteners (NNS) are chemical substances developed by the food industry to reduce sugar and calories while preserving sweetness. Epidemiological studies have indicated a potential increased risk of certain cancers, including breast cancer (BC), associated with NNS consumption.
