The Effects of Volunteering on Hypertension by Health Insurance Status Among U.S. Adults Aged 50-64

Study in peoplePopulations

Abstract

Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in the U.S. Managing blood pressure can be challenging for individuals without health insurance due to barriers to healthcare access. Emerging evidence suggests that volunteering may serve as a public health intervention that reduces hypertension.
