Abstract

Red blood cell distribution width (RDW) measures erythrocyte size variability and strongly predicts cardiovascular disease (CVD) morbidity and mortality. Our prior cross-sectional analysis showed that inflammation, metabolic rate, and body habitus are independently associated with RDW.
