Background: Cerebral hypoperfusion can result in cognitive decline and is a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease (AD). A common cerebral anatomical variation (vertebral artery hypoplasia [VAH]) has been linked to reduced cerebral blood flow and elevated cerebral pulsatility.
