Abstract

Background: Apolipoprotein E‐ε4 (APOE‐ε4) is a major genetic risk factor for sporadic Alzheimer's disease (AD). Previous studies suggested that APOE‐ε4 homozygotes represent a genetic form of AD, and APOE4 appears to have a more pronounced effect on the East Asian aging population.
