Background: Serum levels of dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (DDE), the primary metabolite of the organochlorine pesticide dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT), are associated with cognitive impairment and increased risk of Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
