Abstract
Sleep disturbance has been associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Repeated stressors, including ongoing sleep disturbance, trigger persistent increases in glucocorticoid levels, which affect brain function. Various cognitive domains appear to be significantly impacted by sleep.
