Abstract
Background: Many of the over 70 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that associate with late‐onset Alzheimer (LOAD) are common. LOAD risk alleles may achieve high frequency by providing beneficial effects earlier in life for other, as yet undefined, phenotypes.
