Abstract
Background: The APOE genotype is the strongest genetic modulator of Alzheimer's disease (AD), affecting not only the risk of developing AD, but also its age of onset and neuropathological features, particularly amyloid plaque burden and cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) severity.
