From the registry
Turning is a frequent cause of falls in people with Parkinson's disease, but it is rarely trained specifically in conventional exercise programs. This randomized controlled trial examines whether adding functional turning exercises to a conventional exercise program improves fall risk, gait speed, and balance in patients with early-stage Parkinson's disease. Fifty patients are randomly assigned to conventional exercise or to conventional exercise plus functional turning exercises. Both groups exercise three times per week for 12 weeks with similar session duration. Outcomes are assessed before and after the intervention.
