Abstract

Background: Postmenopausal women experience an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases due to estrogen deficiency, which induces endothelial dysfunction. Statins primarily lower cardiovascular risk by altering lipid profiles, but they also exert non-lipid-modifying, pleiotropic effects on the vascular endothelium.
