Sleep quality is an important aspect of maintaining physiological and psychological function in older adults. This study aimed to determine the effect of administering aromatherapy from eco enzyme extract on sleep quality in older adults in the service area of Tanjung Agung Palik Community Health Center, North Bengkulu Regency, in 2026. The study used a quantitative method with a pretest-posttest design involving 45 older adults. Sleep quality was measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) before and after the intervention. Aromatherapy was administered using an LED Light diffuser containing 220 ml of eco enzyme extract, turned on 5 minutes before bedtime and operated during sleep, once every night for 3 days. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Before the intervention, all respondents (45 people; 100%) had poor sleep quality, with a mean PSQI score of 10.98 ± 2.21. After the intervention, 38 respondents (84.4%) had good sleep quality and 7 respondents (15.6%) still had poor sleep quality, with a mean PSQI score of 4.62 ± 1.25. The Wilcoxon test showed Z = -5.856 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Thus, administering aromatherapy from eco enzyme extract had a significant effect on sleep quality in older adults.
