Assessment of Frailty in Hospitalized Cancer Patients: A Psychometric Study of the Brazilian Version of Kihon Checklist
By Lucchesi PAO, Rojas-Rivera A, Gallasch CH et al.
OBJECTIVES: to analyze the validity and reliability of Kihon Checklist, Brazilian version, for assessing frailty in older adults hospitalized with cancer. METHODS: psychometric study. Content was analyzed by experts using the Content Validity Ratio. Internal structure was assessed by Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and reliability. Sample of 250 individuals. RESULTS: content validity analysis using Content Validity Ratio excluded two items due to values below 0.60. Internal structure analysis showed a better fit in a two-dimensional structure with ten items, named KCL-ONCO10, explaining 66.48% of the phenomenon, with good fit and reliability indices (X2=38.98; p=0.04; GFI=0.98; CFI=0.99; AGFI=0.97; RMSEA=0.04; RMSR=0.05; α=0.84; Ω=0.84), but unstable in the construct replicability (GH Index=F1 0.89 - 0.69; F2 0.85 - 0.67). CONCLUSIONS: KCL-ONCO10 demonstrated satisfactory validity and reliability evidence for assessing frailty in older adults hospitalized with cancer.
