Abstract

Background Prediabetes is increasingly prevalent, and women transitioning through menopause may face a particularly elevated risk of progressing to type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Estrogen deficiency promotes adiposity, insulin resistance, and inflammation, potentially amplifying the metabolic burden of aging.
