Abstract

In an era of escalating geopolitical tensions and resource depletion, the traditional definition of national power—based primarily on military capability—is becoming increasingly obsolete and destructive. This paper introduces the Vital Intelligence Doctrine (VID), a paradigm shift that advocates for the fundamental realignment of national priorities. VID posits that a nation’s true strength is not derived from its ability to project force, but from its capacity to advance human longevity, eradicate chronic diseases, and restore planetary ecological health. Drawing upon the visionary perspectives of Albert Einstein on peace, Buckminster Fuller’s "Spaceship Earth" management, and contemporary initiatives in global health and sustainability, this doctrine argues that the massive global expenditure on armaments is a misallocation of resources that hinders the progress of human civilization. By restructuring national budgets toward biomedical innovation, aging mitigation, and sustainable energy, nations can secure a superior, "indispensable" global position. The doctrine proposes a new set of indicators for national power: community health resilience, ecological restoration rates, and the speed of biomedical breakthroughs. This framework provides a roadmap for nations to move beyond the cycle of insecurity and toward a sustainable future centered on the mastery of life.
