By Чобанов Р, Гаджиева Я, Багирова Ш et al.

The article presents a description of the pattern of comorbid diseases in elderly and old patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as well as an analysis of the distribution of quality-of-life indicators. A retrospective study was conducted based on an analysis of 361 medical records of patients at a gerontological center with an established diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Quality of life was assessed using the SF-36 questionnaire. It was shown that in elderly and old patients, type 2 diabetes mellitus does not occur in isolation and is accompanied by multiple concomitant diseases. An increase in the number of comorbid conditions with age is noted, accompanied by a decline in quality-of-life indicators. Analysis of the data by sex revealed similar patterns in the prevalence of most concomitant diseases among men and women.
