Abstract
Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) and type 2 diabetes (T2D) share common pathophysiological mechanisms and cognitive sequelae. A potential mechanism by which T2D raises AD risk among aging adults relates to alterations in the medial temporal and prefrontal cortices (Napoleon et al., 2024).
