Background: Cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) is characterized by white matter hyperintensities (WMH) and microstructural damage detectable via diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI) parameters such as free water (FW) and fractional anisotropy (FA). Vascular risk factors contribute to white matter damage and cognitive decline.
