Abstract

Background: Estradiol is an ovarian hormone present during reproductive years. During menopause, estradiol decline may trigger or exacerbate pathological mechanisms of AD. Estrogen‐based hormone therapies (HT), may mitigate cognitive decline and AD, although findings are inconsistent.
