Abstract

Background: Brain arteriolosclerosis, a primary pathology of cerebral small vessel disease, is common in older adults and has been linked to lower cognitive and motor function, as well as an increased risk of dementia. Despite its prevalence, arteriolosclerosis can only be diagnosed at autopsy.
