Abstract

Background: There are many menopauses, all marking a significant endocrine transition characterized by the depletion of ovarian hormones, including estradiol and progesterone. This transition, especially when it occurs earlier than average, is associated with increased risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) and dementia.
